Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, Hon. James Marape (middle), with his parents at the Seventh-day Adventist Community Service (ACS) Congress in Tari, Hela Province.
Prime Minister Marape is a missionary kid. His dad, Pastor John Marape, is a pioneer SDA pastor. His mum has been the backbone of his dad's many years of Adventist missionary work. They served mostly in the remote parts of the country including the thick swamps of Western Province, the thick forest of West Sepik Province and many other challenging places. Then little James (now PM) moved around with his parents.
Years later God rewarded the two missionary couple with the biggest blessing of all, their son whom they took (him) around in the challenging places is the Prime Minister of the Papua New Guinea, the commander in chief of everything in the country. And they are living to see it themselves with their own eyes.
They say, humble yourself in the Lord and He will lift you up. Pastor John Marape was not known by anyone when he served the Lord in the thick jungles. However, his name (Marape) is now known by everyone in the country, including the international community. The little boy who walked the muddy roads and rough stiff hills and mountains of the country's forgotten places is now the Prime Minister.
This picture itself is a blessing to the eyes of many.
God is indeed good.
